Loosely inspired by the reading of the I Ching (Book of Changes) Hexagram 55: Abundance. The meaning of this is taken from various I Ching interpretations- there is clarity within, movement without and this produces greatness and abundance. Abundance follows the attainment of the place where you naturally belong. The painting is built up with cold wax and oil paint from an under painting of acrylic. Glazes of oil paint are applied and time is need for the layers of translucent paint to dry before continuing the painting. Glazes are often wiped over with a rag or tissue to expose layers of painted surfaces beneath. This also forces paint into the roughened, textured surfaces created by the worked cold wax. This technique gives a greater sense of depth to the painting.
