ED CHAPMAN

Ed, a renowned mosaic artist, is highly regarded in the art world for his distinctive and easily recognizable style. His masterpieces have found their way into the collections of numerous high-profile individuals, as well as private and corporate establishments worldwide.

One of the most extraordinary aspects of Ed's career is the groundbreaking work he has produced in the realm of mosaic art. Notably, he has pioneered several innovative techniques, such as using Fender guitar picks to create a mosaic of Jimi Hendrix, crafting a carpet made from household items (such as tomato sauce and lipstick) to depict tennis star Andy Murray, and fashioning a metal mosaic of Albert Einstein. Additionally, Ed has pushed the boundaries of creativity by constructing mosaics from chewing gum, bullets, and many other unconventional materials.

The process of creating Ed's ceramic tiled portraits is a laborious one, demanding hours upon hours of meticulous effort. He painstakingly cuts and shapes hundreds of ceramic fragments, some as small as a couple of millimeters. Each piece is then meticulously affixed by hand, with impeccable attention to detail, resulting in flawless final compositions.

Ed's subjects encompass a wide range, from actors and singers to specially commissioned portraits of families and world leaders. His artwork adorns the homes of the affluent and famous, and his talent has garnered great media attention across Europe and North America.

Artist Ed Chapman has recreated the portraits of Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, and Manchester City boss, Mark Hughes entirely out of one penny coins. The piece was commissioned to support the launch of Championship Manager 2010. Distributed by Tubemogul.
